It’s the most wonderful time of the year! Well, depends on who you are. If you work in retail, it’s awful… lol. But, we all gotta take some time to enjoy it with our friends and family.
In Pittsburgh, it’s practically a wasted season if you don’t go visit Market Square and the iconic PPG Place with their beautiful decorations, Christmas Market, and humongous Christmas tree in the center of the ice rink. Something new to the area is a Christmas themed pop-up bar, Miracle on Market.
My friends and I saw an article on Facebook about it and decided to make it a date this past Sunday. The bar is located right next to the Oyster House in Market Square. It’s very small so it’s easy to miss! It is genuinely a really cool place and a genius idea. The article we read described it as a bar that “looks like Christmas threw-up on it.” It honestly does, though.
I personally didn’t have any drinks, but I came to enjoy a nice time with friends and experience such a wild idea for a Christmas tradition. Of the drinks on the menu, my friends had the “Yippie Ki Yay Mother F*****”, “Jingle Bell Nog”, “Fa La La La La La La La La”, a “Naughty Shot” (bourbon and cinnamon), “You’ll Shoot Your Rye Out”, and the “Snowball Old Fashioned”. As you can see, they have some really off the wall names but it’s very fitting for the environment. If you’re planning on stopping in, do it soon! It’s only open until New Years Eve!
So, if this post didn’t already convince you, check out some of my photos below of this festive bar as well as some shots of the beautiful Market Square and PPG Place! 🙂
